In 2009 when I began a small private practice, the name “Life Investment Network” seemed to fit better than something more clinical. My focus with serving hurting people is to help guide them to realizing that their life matters, and therefore working on oneself is an investment that makes a difference for the long-term. “Network” includes the many connections available to help support that investment in our lives, whether other mental health professionals, or spiritual mentors, or the many people and places who support our journey.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Michigan. I’m also a woman who is learning more about more about myself each day in my own journey of loss and grief and healing and hope. My work is primarily with people who have lost a loved one to death. But loss encompasses so much more than death. Each change in our lives involves a loss of some kind. We may not always grieve that loss, but when we do it is important to acknowledge our feelings, thoughts, and ways we are changing as a result.
In additional to death, a loss may also involve a relationship with someone who is still alive – such as a divorce, or estrangement, or even experiencing an empty nest. A loss may be related to the death or rehoming of a beloved pet. It may include relocating our home, losing or changing jobs, having financial challenges, going through health issues, and any number of other ways which impact our lives in little and big ways.
This journey of life we are all on is most certainly fraught with loss. Yet it is also full of opportunities for hope and healing and becoming and rebuilding.
This site is not intended to provide counseling or advice. Rather, it is written and designed to share from my own heart what I am learning in my own journey. Perhaps in these pages you will find yourself less alone, more understood, and most of all, able to identify that whatever you are experiencing in life today, we all are always on the cusp of discovering something new to enrich our lives.
